As I sit here in the quiet with my peppermint coffee while the snow falls and the Christmas tree is still lighting up the room, I find myself reflecting back on 2013. A year filled with change, birth, heartache, laughter, chaos, friendship, tears, getaways, and so much more. To me it was a whirlwind and by far the quickest year I can remember. Even though it flew by, it is probably the year that will impact my life the most.
I do not have a New Years Resolution that will "stand out". I do not have all of the answers or perfection to make everything the way it should be. What I do have is a vulnerable heart and desire. Two things that will make 2014 a year of growth, learning and the ability to truly love in a deeper way.
Last night after the NYE gathering was over and the boys were asleep in their beds, Dan and I toasted with our champaign glasses to "our best year ever....2014". What will it hold for us, the boys, our lives, our families? That is not something I can predict. What I do know is what we truly desire in our hearts and us seeking Him daily for that wisdom and strength we lack will make our journey more amazing than we could ever make it ourselves.
We will all "get to that final chapter" in life, but I truly believe that the journey to that point is the best part and is what defines us.
