I've got it.

I was driving with the boys tonight and Andrew pointed out that the road ahead was covered with blowing snow.  I looked at him and said all too confidently, "Its just a little snow.  I've got it."  As we skidded down Monclova Road, I realized at that moment that my reaction to not take the warning sign from my son seriously was foolish.

There wasn't a crash, I didn't slide into the ditch, but I decided to ignore the warning right in front of my face because "I've got it" and we skidded down the road which could have lead to more.

Something I'm continuing to learn is that I can't control life and those warning signs are there for a reason....to keep us safe....protect us from making a bad decision and so on.

Sometimes we need to get out of the "I'm in charge and got it under control" zone that can blind us from seeing the warning signs and hearing His voice that cautions and guides us throughout life.
